Elevated Storage Tank at Leonard and Penny

New Caney
Storage Tank

Our Goal

New Caney’s rapid residential and commercial development growth following the construction of the Grand Parkway prompted collaboration between LJA and the New Caney Municipal Utility District in 2006.

In collaboration with the District, LJA’s mission was to create a Capital Improvements Plan aimed at tackling the expected capacity challenges resulting from increased development.

The LJA Roadmap

The project includes a 750,000-gallon composite elevated storage tank, complete with essential electrical and control components, a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, site infrastructure, and connections to existing facilities.

To mark the tank’s completion, a celebratory event was held, attended by the District, LJA, County, School District, and STEM students, highlighting the project’s design aspects. The District plans to build four more elevated storage tanks over the next two decades to meet the capacity requirements based on current population projections for future development.
