Steep/Flat Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion

Responsiveness. LJA provided dedicated management and design personnel who met continually with City staff on this complicated project. The talented and experienced team relied on their expertise, knowledge, and commitment to maintain project continuity, establish communications with all stakeholders, and to keep the project on track.

The project consisted of preliminary, final design, bidding, and construction phase services for the expansion of the existing 1.5 MGD wastewater treatment plan (WWTP) to a 3.0 MGD. The expansion included replacing the headworks fine screen, adding a second oxidation ditch and a second clarifier, and expanding the UV disinfection module, along with miscellaneous other improvements to the overall plant facility. The use of jet aeration in lieu of the existing brush aerators increases the efficiency of the system.
