Woodforest
Responsiveness. LJA has provided land planning services for Woodforest for over 11 years and is continuing this service for the master development plan of the community. At the onset, LJA conducted preliminary engineering as well as hydrologic and hydraulic studies for critical drainage improvements related to Fish Creek, Lake Creek, and Mound Creek located within and adjacent to the project. In addition, LJA has assisted in the creation of three municipal utility districts (MUDs) for the development — Montgomery County MUDs 113, 114, and 121.
LJA continues to provide planning and engineering design services on the 2,700-acre Woodforest residential development located north of Houston. LJA is handling all major infrastructure design and construction management for water and wastewater utilities and drainage facilities. This work includes the design of major thoroughfares and roadways throughout Woodforest along with the design of drainage channels and detention ponds within the community.
Johnson Development’s upscale, master planned community in heavily wooded, rolling terrain features abundant green space, recreational lakes, hike and bike trails, and a large community center. The 27-hole golf course, designed by PGA’s Steve Elkington, ranks third as the “Best New Course in Houston” by the Houston Business Journal. Upon completion, the community will offer 6,000 homes in a broad mix of types including traditional single family homes. Commercial, retail, and mixed-use lifestyle centers, schools, and churches blend naturally into the preserved landscape of the east Texas forest.
