Our Goal
Our goal for the New Hope Drive project was to meet the City of Cedar Park’s needs to enhance east-west connectivity while ensuring safety, accessibility, and community support by developing a 3-mile, new location, four-lane divided arterial roadway, enhancing connectivity between Cottonwood Creek Trail and CR 175. The design features a raised median, turn lanes, and bike/pedestrian facilities to improve traffic flow and safety.
Comprehensive drainage studies and a Water Pollution Abatement Plan were developed to manage stormwater and minimize environmental impacts. Special attention was given to minimizing disruptions to a 72″ BCRUA water line and a high voltage LCRA electric transmission line running parallel to the corridor, and a robust community engagement effort to gain valuable input and support from citizens and business owners. These efforts ensure the project meets community needs while preserving essential utilities and protecting the environment. The New Hope Drive project represents a significant investment in Cedar Park’s infrastructure, offering improved transportation options and enhanced safety.
The LJA Roadmap
Our road map for this project focused on delivering a seamless and efficient arterial corridor expanding the City’s east/west connectivity and providing a developable corridor capable of stimulating economic growth opportunities. From the initial planning to final design and through construction, LJA led all aspects of the project including right-of-way determination/acquisition, schematic and environmental studies, public engagement, drainage, bridge structures, water quality, utility coordination, ADA compliance, and construction phase services. Our traffic control plan detailed an efficient strategy to phase the construction of the roadway, drainage, and water/wastewater facilities in order to provide safe work zones for the contractor while maintaining traffic operations and meeting the City’s schedule goals.
