Our Goal
The primary goal of the Towne Lake Park Light Walk, is to reimagine the traditional trail experience by creating an immersive nighttime journey through nature. Instead of just offering a daytime walk, the project aims to transform a familiar forested trail into an experience that engages visitors visually and emotionally through lighting, themed “light rooms,” custom pendants, and glow-in-the-dark pavement. The Light Walk is about letting visitors experience the forest under a new light, both literally and figuratively.
The LJA Roadmap
During the reimagining of Towne Lake Park in McKinney, Texas, LJA set out to transform the traditional daytime trail into a unique nighttime experience. As the first phase of the City’s Master Plan, the Light Walk turns a wooded path into an immersive, illuminated journey featuring a welcoming entry plaza, winding trails, themed “light rooms,” suspended custom lighting, and glow-in-the-dark pavement that creates a magical, star-like effect. Backed by strong community and City support, this project reflects McKinney’s commitment to enhancing quality of life through innovative, family-friendly public spaces.
