Traffic Signal Update

The Beach Boulevard Signal Upgrade Project modernized ten key intersections in Jacksonville, Florida, by integrating advanced signal controllers and enhancing vehicle and pedestrian detection systems. These communication infrastructure improvements were designed to significantly boost both safety and operational efficiency throughout the corridor. These upgrades allow for the implementation of synchronized timing plans that ensure efficient, reliable performance across the corridor in full alignment with FDOT standards.

This project featured the design of ten new mast-arm-mounted traffic signals along the Beach Boulevard corridor, complemented by the addition of a right-turn lane at Parental Home Road to increase intersection capacity. To bolster safety and accessibility, the design integrated modern ADA features at every signalized location alongside Special Emphasis Crosswalks and enhanced intersection lighting.
