Todd Thurber, PE, has nearly three decades of transportation project experience in the Houston region and throughout the state. Areas of expertise include planning, development, and design for expansion and reconstruction of freeway corridors traversing and linking urban centers in Texas. His experience encompasses new corridor development, highway rehabilitation and expansions, complex urban interchanges, feasibility studies, toll feasibility and tolling operations, transit projects including HOV and HOT lanes, and traffic studies for TxDOT, Harris County Toll Road Authority, Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority, Houston METRO, and the Grand Parkway Association. As project manager on the planning and final design of urban freeways/direct connect interchanges, he has completed over $1B worth of projects. He continues to promote improved mobility in our region by volunteering his expertise to ACEC Houston on the Public Affairs Committee and as subcommittee chair for the joint ACEC/TxDOT/HGAC Planning Process Workshop, and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, where he was a board member and chair of the Infrastructure Division. He has been recognized for his efforts, being selected as 1998’s SAME Young Engineer of the Year and the 2015 ASCE Texas Section Citizen Engineer Award. He is also active in the community with organizations such as the ARC of Fort Bend County.
